Higher Education Regional Alliance of Wisconsin secures $1.5 million to fuel growth through new skills-based micro credential programs
Dear HERA colleagues, partners and supporters, Since Southeastern Wisconsin’s higher education institutions first began collaborating through HERA, our efforts have been underpinned by a fundamental belief that we can accomplish more together than any one institution could do alone.
And today, I’m excited to report that our commitment to collaboration has led to a significant milestone: We recently learned that HERA has received a $1.5 million Congressional Directed Spending allocation that will greatly increase our capacity to develop microcredential programs that extend our reach and enhance our impact throughout the region.
By developing new programming with a focus on high-demand, high-impact career fields, we will grow our ability to support the talent needs of Southeastern Wisconsin employers. On behalf of our 17 higher education institutions and partners, I want to thank Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin and her staff for supporting our request and the Senate Appropriations Committee for recognizing that this is a worthwhile investment in the future of our region.
